Hot Moulding Mica-Shellac
01-99 Shellac Mould Plate
01-99 plate is a Class B hot forming moulding plate. It is made with partially cured shellac binder generally between 10 to 22 %. It softens under heat to facilitate good moulding. There are different grades of 01-99 mould plate available depending upon the type of mica used, binder content, and surface characteristics.
For hot moulding of intricate parts such as mica commutator cones or V-rings, end bell insulation, slot cells, coil forms and tubes
The layout consisting of the required number of layers of thin mica moulding plates (cut to definite shape) is set in a pre-determined pattern. It is then heated uniformly to a temperature of 130°C – 160°C till it becomes soft. It takes the required form when moulded under pressure.
It retains its form when cooled under pressure. The duration, temperature and pressure will have to be determined by application. These moulded parts, if required, can be fully cured under heat and pressure for several more hours to develop their full properties.

SIWO-KUL™ 1.1 – 15.0 kV
Flexible single core connection cables
The connection cable Type SIWO-KUL is a very flexible single core cable. It is manufactured in the voltage range of 1.1 kV, 3.3-4.2 kV, 6.6-7.2 kV and 13.8-15.0 kV. The operating temperature forcontinuous service extends from –55°C up to 180°C. The use of silicone rubber, a high grade corona resistant insulationmaterial, gives the cableexcellent dielectric strength.
The braided synthetic yarn covering, which is applied directly over the insulation, gives the cable, because of its short braiding pitch and high compactness, an excellent mechanical protection by maintaining good flexibility.
The varnishing of the braiding results in good anti-friction properties, high abrasion resistance and excellent chemical resistance against transformer oil, light fuel oil and most types of cleaning agents.
In the event of fire, no corrosive and toxic gases will be given off. Hence, damage caused by fire can be kept to a minimum. Compared with other plastic insulated cables, SIWO-KUL generates only little smoke and is therefore defined as “low smoke grade” according to the Guideline For Fire Regulations.
Of course, the cable meets the requirements concerning fire propagation specified in IEEE 383 and IEC 60332-3 respectively. According to the French specification N.F.F.16.101, this cable is BF1 approved which means that it is in compliance with requirements for cables used inthe internal wiring of rail cars.
